A UNITED METHODIST IS...

A person who has made a covenant together with God and members of a local church.

A person who has acknowledged Jesus Christ as Savior and pledged allegiance to His Kindom, professed the Christian faith as contained in the Old and New Testaments, promised to live a Christian life and to remain a faithful member of the church, pledged to be loyal to the United Methodist Church and support it with prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.

These simple vows can lead to a life of service and joy, sustained by the courage and wisdom God grants to those who seek to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.

A United Methodist committed to telling the story of salvation to the world, believes, as did John Wesley,
that we are granted "great and precious promises so that through them you may participate in the
divine nature." (2 Peter 1::4)

 

The last couple of Sundays we have been focusing on the words of Jesus. Especially these words:

Follow Me,            Repent and believe in the Good News

Come and See,     Go and Tell

                  Fish for People

As United Methodists these words should hold significant
